Hello, I'm Célien

I'm based in the Gard region, in the south of France, and TOKIVA was born from a passion I've pursued for several years: vintage Japanese watches.

It all started, like many beautiful collector's stories, with buying and reselling for my own collection. I've always been drawn to Japanese style and culture, and watches are one of its finest expressions: discreet technical precision, a design that spans decades without ever looking dated.

Why Japan

The Japanese pre-owned watch market has a well-deserved reputation: pieces are generally better maintained, better preserved, and you can find references there that are almost never seen in France. This is the ground I've learned to explore, first for myself, before turning it into a business.

How I select each watch

Every piece sold on TOKIVA is purchased directly from Japan, through local contacts. This isn't bulk import or dropshipping: I choose each watch individually, based on its condition, reliability, and interest.

Expertise acquired in the field

I'm self-taught. I learned to assess the condition of a watch – movement, case, dial, strap – by building my own collection, watch after watch, sometimes error after error. It's this personal experience that I now apply to every piece I offer: nothing is put up for sale without undergoing a complete inspection.

Why TOKIVA

Giving a second life to a watch that already has a history is what I love about this activity. Each piece has passed through the years before reaching me – my job is to ensure it's ready to pass through many more, on your wrist.
